Today, we are going home! It has been such a wonderful/tiring/exciting/crazy week. I feel so blessed to have been able to experience so many things and places in such a short amount of time. As amazing as it has been going and doing every day, I am so ready for normal. I want to go grocery shopping and sleep in my own bed and get settled.
The moving company is coming on Wednesday with all of our stuff, so we’ll be with the bare essentials for a little while longer. We plan on going to IKEA tomorrow to get furniture and other items.
Yesterday, we spent the day in San Francisco. We went to breakfast then drove to the original Ghirardelli Chocolate shop.
I got a Salted Caramel Banana shake (mind-blowing). We sat outside and enjoyed the incredibly cool weather on the water.
After chocolate overload, we went to our massage appointment. Ah-mazing. The spa was beautiful and peaceful, and the massage itself was heavenly. It’s going to take some time for my back to recover from the driving/riding tension, but the massage definitely helped some.
On the drive to Medford, OR, we went across the Golden Gate Bridge, which was much shorter than I had expected.
*Excuse the bug-laden windshield shots
Overall, it was a good day, but the closer we get to Portland, the harder it is to enjoy the city we’re in. We just want to get there!
Road Trip Day 7 by numbers:
– 363 miles driven
– 1,000,000 Chinese, Japanese, and Thai restaurants in San Fran
– All the pee smell (not sure how to define that numerically)
– 50 “it hurts so good” thoughts during my massage
– 1 cool bridge
We’re almost there!
