Wooden Shoe Tulip Fest

I can count on one hand the number of places that have truly taken my breath away. The Oregon coast and the Grand Canyon are two. As of last weekend, the tulips were added to the list.

The Wooden Shoe Tulip Fest in Woodburn, OR is the home to over 40 acres of tulips. 40 acres may not sound like a lot, but imagine being completely surrounded  by color after color as far as the eye can see.

Exploring San Francisco

I had a job interview in San Francisco early last week, so Scott and I took a quick flight down to hang out in the Bay area!

Here’s a few pictures from our visit:

REDЯUM: Visit to Timberline Lodge

Processed with VSCOcam with m5 preset

A few weeks ago, Scott, our friend, Ryan, and I visited the Timberline Lodge on Mount Hood. Mount Hood is about an hour east of Portland and sits at an elevation of 5,960 feet.

We have a view from Mount Hood from our apartment, but actually walking around on it was mind blowing. I had never seen that much snow!

Afternoon at the River

Yesterday, Scott and I were craving a little sun and adventure. We drove to a nearby park that had a little beach right on the river. Little kids (and Scott) were playing in the chilly water and people floated by on rafts.

We only stayed for about an hour, but seeing the start of the sunset made for a wonderful end to the day.

Chi-town Lovin’

Last weekend, Scott and I flew out to Chicago for the Lollapalooza music festival!

Three words I would use to describe the festival:

1) Music

2) Lines

3) Underbutt

Lollapalooza was certainly an experience. Scott and I aren’t really “people friendly”, so I’m not entirely sure why we engage in activities involving thousands of others (ahem, Disney, Las Vegas).

We had tickets for Friday and Sunday and saw/heard the following bands: Crystal Castles, Imagine Dragons, Steve Aoki, Flux Pavilion, Vampire Weekend, Two Door Cinema Club, Major Lazer, and Knife Party.
